5 Great Reasons to Pamper Your Pet with a Vacation

Your pet is more than just a furry friend; they’re a vital member of your family. The American Pet Products Association reports that almost 85 million homes in the U.S. have a pet. It’s not unusual for you to want your pet to enjoy life to the fullest, even if you’re on vacation. While you’re enjoying your time away, your pets deserve a little vacation, too. Here are some great reasons to pamper your pets with pet day care while you’re enjoying your vacation.

A Great Chance to Socialize

While you’re making memories on your vacation, your beloved pet can make new friends in pet day care. Local pet boarding is a great way for your dog or cat to get a chance to interact with other pets in a safe environment.

Supervised Playtime

Maybe you’re worried that boarding your pet for the holidays or for a weekend means that they’ll be all alone. The best thing about pet day care is that there are experienced workers who keep watch over your dog or cat at all times. You can relax knowing that whether they’re playing, eating, or sleeping, your pet has someone watching out for them.

You Both Get to Relax

Dog and cat boarding services often go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that your pet is as pampered as they would be if you both were at home. While you’re enjoying the sun on the beach, your pet can relax in a comfortable bed with all the love and care they deserve. Many pet boarding services strive to make their facilities as comfortable as possible for your pet so that they are returned to you happy, healthy, and eager to see you again.

A Chance to Explore Something New

Some pets don’t get a lot of opportunities for socialization outside the home so pet day care works great as a way to explore new surroundings! There’s nothing like new sights, sounds, and smells to engage your dog or cat and enrich their brains. Dogs have a sense of smell that is about 10,000 times stronger than humans’. All the new smells in a new place are the doggy equivalent of exploring a new city you’ve never seen before — positively thrilling!

An Outlet for Excess Energy

You and your pet do everything together, but some vacation spots are not ideal for furry friends. Rather than keeping them inside all day while you go on your adventures, you can give them an adventure of their own and a chance to burn off some extra energy. By the end of the trip, you’ll both be happily exhausted and ready to get back to the comfort of home.

Pet day care is an ideal option for pet owners who love their pets and want them to have the very best. Whether you’re staying at your vacation home for a few days or a few weeks, consider investing in pet care for your dog or cat so that they can enjoy their vacation, too. Why Book A Vacation For Your Pet?

Planning a vacation takes incredible time and attention to detail, and nobody wants a last-minute detail to ruin their travel plans. After all, 96% of American workers say vacation time is important to them. But what happens when you’re planning to go away on vacation and your pet sitter cancels? In that case, it might be time for local dog boarding services to give your dog a pet vacation. Here are just a few reasons booking a vacation for your pet might be the best option for your travel plans.

Traveling Is Complicated

Traveling is already a complex mess, depending on how you choose to get to your vacation destination. If you’re driving, you might be able to bring your pet with you, but it will take tons of work to coordinate. If you’re flying, you’re almost certainly going to need a local dog boarding service to look after your pet, if for no other reason than flying with a dog is such a hassle.

Where To Stay?

If you could negotiate traveling with your furry friend, do you have a destination that can accommodate them? Most hotels and other travel lodging don’t welcome cats or dogs, meaning that without careful planning you’ll get to your vacation and have nowhere to stay. Booking a vacation for your pet with your local pet boarding services means you’ll be able to stay in any place you like once you finally are on your well-earned vacation.

Pamper Your Pets

If you’re taking some time off of work to relax and enjoy the finer things in life, shouldn’t your pet get to relax too? For pets, traveling can be a difficult nightmare. Luckily, local dog daycare options can help you pamper your pooch without stressing them out first through travel. While you’re away and enjoying your vacation, your pet gets to relax and unwind as well.

Creating your vacation plans around bringing your pet with you is incredibly difficult. Instead, hire a local dog boarding service to give your pet the vacation they deserve while you relax on your trip. How to Pick A Dog-Approved Pooch Resort

Over one-third of U.S. homes have a dog. This means that there are many dog parents who go on vacation each year. Some dog moms and dads may opt-out of vacation because they are concerned about leaving their pets behind. Some issues dog parents face are the cost of a local dog boarding service or trusting someone else to handle pet care. These concerns can cause a dog parent to stay at home.

Since almost all employed Americans would like to take a holiday, luckily there are places like Eastern Shore Pet Resort, where a dog parent can take advantage of pet boarding services. Many vacationers like to go to the Delaware beaches in the summer. There are local Delaware beach pet care services that can help. The first step is making a dog boarding reservation at a reputable dog boarding service. A good way to find a dog board service is to ask for referrals from friends who have used local pet boarding. If you don’t have a referral, you can do research online for local dog boarding and check reviews.

When researching local dog boarding services, you want to make sure that most of the reviews are positive. You want to comparison shop to make sure you are getting the best services and amenities for holiday pet boarding. Check what kind of meals the dog boarding service would be serving. Another thing to check for would be what kind of activities they offer your pets. Does your dog get enough outdoor time? Depending on what breed of dog you have, you might need to check breeding or size restrictions. Also, you will want to check if the staff is trained in case of an emergency. You want to see how your pet’s health and well-being will be handled. Of course, it is also important to check online pictures or videos to get a visual snapshot of where your dog will be staying.

After you finish your research, you can book your reservation for a local dog boarding service. Some services allow you to book your reservation online. Other local pet care companies may require a phone call. Either way, make sure you ask any questions you may have before finalizing your reservation for your dog care. That way you can be sure that your beach vacation will be dog-approved.

3 Reasons Why Pet Boarding Can Reduce Stress This Holiday Season

The holiday season is hectic for everyone, especially for pet owners. Owning a pet is a full-time job, which means you need to plan your shopping schedule and travel schedule around your furry friends.

Fortunately, pet boarding services like dog daycare can help make the holiday season a little less stressful for everyone. Here are a few reasons to consider using pet boarding or dog daycare this season:

  1. You can get all of your shopping done. You might be able to shop until you drop if you have a cat at home, but if you own a dog that’s a different story. It can be stressful knowing that you only have a few hours to go out, do your holiday shopping, and then come home before your dog has to use the bathroom. Dog daycare can take care of your furry friend while you’re out doing your shopping so you don’t have to worry about stopping home throughout the day.
  2. You don’t have to feel guilty about leaving. Nothing’s worse than coming home from working, taking your dog out to use the restroom, and then leaving the house again for another few hours to do holiday shopping. With dog daycare or weekend daycare, you can relax knowing that your dog has activities to do while you’re gone.
  3. You can travel without worry. The last thing you want to worry about is having a pet sitter cancel plans on you at the last minute during the holiday season. Pet boarding services ensure that you can focus on catching your flight or making that road trip while your cat or dog relaxes at the local pet boarding resort.

If you need pet boarding services during the holiday season, you’re not alone. Almost 85 million households have a pet, according to the American Pet Products Association, and over 70% of apartment renters own pets.

Unfortunately, taking your furry friends with you to your parent’s house for holidays could cause more stress than you’d like. And having someone stop by your house to feed and walk your dog might not in an option. That’s where the pet boarding services of Eastern Shore Pet Resort come in.

Your Dog Needs a Vacation–So Do You

Did you know that nearly 85 million Americans have pets? According to the American Pets Products Association, not only do that many Americans have pets, but they also spend nearly $60 billion on their furry friends each year.

That number may seem staggering to some of you, but most Americans are more than willing to spend money on their pets because people are happier and healthier as a result of owning a dog or cat. However, 96% of Americans also want to take vacations but don’t know what to do with their pets while they’re away. One of the newest trends is to take your pets along and drop them off in doggy daycare.

While cat boarding or dog boarding are also popular options when you’re vacationing, doggy daycare and even cat daycare allow you to drop off your four-footed friends for a little fun and relaxation of their own while you hit the beach. A little hesitant to try this? Here are some reasons why you shouldn’t be.

You get to see your pet every day.

If you’re worried about leaving your pets while you’re away, doggy daycare gives you the option of leaving them for as little as a few hours or as long as a full day. That’s the nice thing about pet daycare rather than pet boarding—you get to pick your animal up each night instead of leaving them for a week or more while you’re gone. Many doggy daycare facilities even have live video that you can see on your mobile device to make sure your pets are safe and having a good time.

Your pet gets socialization time.

Much like you enjoy socializing with new people while on vacation, your pet will enjoy it, too. Doggy daycare gives your pooch the opportunity to play and interact with other animals in a safe environment. Because the play is supervised and sometimes divided into groups according to size or breed, you can be sure that your pet will have a good time and make some new friends.

Your pet gets exercise and rest.

The trained staff in a doggy daycare won’t just let your pets run wild—they will have activities to keep them busy and to help them relax. You can find just about anything in doggy daycare facilities nowadays—obstacle courses, animal television, pet grooming, massage, toys and treats, and sometimes even swimming pools. Many of these pet places are like mini resorts for animals.

Your pet won’t have separation anxiety.

When pets are left alone for too long, they tend to experience separation anxiety. A sudden change in their routine can lead to depression; peeing and pooping inside; chewing on things; or other destructive behavior. At doggy daycare, your pets will have interaction with humans and other animals that keep them from becoming lonely or bored.

You will have a better vacation.

Many people spend their vacations worrying about their pets that are left at home or in local pet boarding. When you bring your pets along on vacation, you can check on them whenever you want—they aren’t far away. Separation anxiety can affect you as well, so picking your pals up at the end of each day keep you both happy and enable you to enjoy your time off together.

If you want to see attractions, swim, hike, shop, or dine out while ensuring that your pets are safe and having fun, doggy daycare might just be the perfect solution for you while on vacation. In fact, many people take their animals to daycare at home as well because there are so many benefits. Just make sure to check out a daycare facility in advance to make sure it will be a good fit.

Cat Boarding Service-A Vacay For Your Kitty

There are 85 million households that have pets. Many of those households are homes to cats. If you are one of those households, and you want to make sure that your cat gets the best care when you cannot be together, cat boarding services can help.

Cat boarding through a trusted provider can be an excellent solution when you have to travel without your furry friend. Take a cue from your neighbors. Cat boarding Georgetown DE residents have found helps them have peace of mind knowing their kitty is fine while they are away.

Making the Right Choice for Your Cat

When you are traveling whether it is for business or pleasure, and you have to leave your cat home alone you are faced with some decisions that you will have to make. Making sure that your cat gets the care that they deserve when you are not there to provide it requires some serious consideration.

Your options for pet care when you are away:

  • Ask friends and family for help
  • Pay a service to come by
  • Turn to a professional local pet care service that specializes in local cat boarding service

Asking friends, family, or a neighbor to help out, puts a lot of pressure on them. People that you reach out to may not feel comfortable saying no to your request. It can be a burden that they do not have the time to manage correctly and may take it on anyway.

Paying a Service to Come By

There are services that you can pay to come by for 15-minute increments to feed, water, and play with your cat, but that can be a risk. Letting someone into your home when you are not there can be problematic. Of course, there is also the problem that your cat will not be monitored the whole time you are away. These types of services usually have a cap on the amount of time they can spend with your pet.

Boarding is Best

Making sure your cat gets the care that they deserve will let you travel with peace of mind. Boarding with a quality local provider will ensure that your cat gets the love and attention that you want them to have when you cannot be home with them.

Don’t leave your cat care up to chance, enlist the services that will care for your cat like you would. Cat boarding service is the right solution.

Best Summer Activities for Dog Owners + Safety Tips

The American Pet Products Association reports that nearly 85 million households have a pet of one kind or another. That might be a dog, cat, fish, gerbil or something else entirely. Regardless of what type of pet you have, pet care is an important part of your life this summer. For those going on vacations, pet boarding service is probably something on your mind.

This is especially true for dog owners. Local pet care is an important aspect of being a dog owner. Knowing when and how to seek care is important to the health of your pup. That being said, there are probably plenty of activities you will be doing this summer where you don’t want a pet daycare. If that is the case, here are some tips for keeping you and your pup safe while having fun this summer. Brought to you by your favorite local pet care.

Water and Shade are Gold: Any local pet care can tell you that dehydration is a real problem for dogs during the summer. Many owners forget that dogs do not have the same cooling mechanisms as humans do (sweating), and instead pant to release excessive heat. That means when it gets hot, dogs have a much higher need for water than we do. Some of the signs of dehydration are dry gums, excessive drooling, and extreme panting. While you are planning your summer activities if your dog is coming along be sure to plan for plenty of water and shade. Additionally, make sure your dog always has access to cool water and shaded areas while at home, whether that is inside or outside. Even indoor dogs can be prone to dehydration in the summer as the home heats up. If you do any running, biking, or other physical activity that requires your dog to run with you, be sure to stop in the shade frequently to allow your dog time to cool off.

Be Familiar with Signs of Danger: A dog’s normal body temperature is slightly higher than a human’s, coming in at 100 degrees to 103 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything above 103 degrees is a danger signal for your dog. Here are some signs that your dog is overheating and might need medical attention: heavy panting, dry or bright red gums, thick drool, vomiting, diarrhea, shaky legs. If your dog is experiencing these symptoms, get them to a cool place and give them access to water. Potentially place a damp towel over your dog’s body to help them cool off, however, do not place your dog in cold water. This can put them into shock.

Never. NEVER. Leave Your Dog In a Car: It is heartbreaking to hear the statistics of how many dogs die each year because they were left in a hot car. Remember, that the interior temperature of a car is going to be much hotter than the temperature outside. Pets can develop a heat stroke in less than 10 minutes if left inside of a hot vehicle. Some states have already issued “hot car” laws that make it illegal to leave your dog in a hot car. However, even if it isn’t illegal, do you really want to chance coming back to your car only to see your dog dead? Of course not.

Don’t Shave Your Dog: Whether you think it is cute or you think it is a solution to overheating, don’t do it. Dogs coats are designed to keep them warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Of course, you should regularly brush your dog to keep the fur from getting matted. Shaving, however, can cause your dog to overheat and can make them more prone to sunburns (yes, dogs can get sunburned too). If you want to trim your dog’s fur, leave at least a full inch of hair (if your dog is long haired) to protect the skin.

Now that you know some of the most important safety principles this summer, it is time to have some fun with your dog! Get out and go play, make some memories that both of you will remember. Have fun this summer!
